I like my BLT assembled differently. You wanna have mayo-lettuce interface, and mayo-tomato interface. Bacon has the fat to stand on its own. I toast the bread, put a liberal amount of mayo on both sides, generous amount of pepper, then a big bed of lettuce on the bottom, then bacon, then tomato. Best eaten upside down after assembled so the tomato hits your tongue first, because thats the real star of the sandwich, but it’s easier to assemble with lettuce on bottom.
